I strongly oppose the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights, which would deny Ontarians the right to be informed about and comment on permits for the Ontario Place project.
The Bill exists to protect Ontario’s environment for future generations. Many residents have raised concerns about preserving this fragile waterfront and offered thoughtful alternatives. Ignoring these voices harms both the public and the government by dismissing valuable community input.
This proposal serves private interests over the public good, endangering a critical waterfront site at a time when Ontario faces urgent environmental challenges.
