This will will repeal Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, weaken environmental protections and hand cabinet the power to fast-track industrial development WITH NO PUBLIC INPUT.

We're caretakers of this earth. The internet has tons of current and excellent material on this subject. Do yourself a favour and educate yourselves: An excerpt: "The disappearance of endangered species is happening at an alarming rate, with estimates suggesting that between 100 and 10,000 species go extinct each year, according to the American Museum of Natural History. This is significantly faster than the historical rate, where only about one species went extinct per million each year. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List currently lists over 169,000 species, with over 47,000 facing extinction.
More Specific Numbers:
Extinction Rate:
Scientists estimate that between 0.01% and 0.1% of all species will become extinct each year. If the low estimate of 2 million species is accurate, this translates to between 200 and 2,000 extinctions annually.
Number of Species on the IUCN Red List:
As of 2024, the IUCN Red List includes over 169,000 species, with more than 47,000 species threatened with extinction."

I OPPOSE THIS BILL. A sad, disgusting example that angers me - the killing of a mated pair of coyotes in Toronto this week. Why were they not rehomed? Did they have pups that have been left orphaned? Why aren't fines increased greatly for people who let their dogs off leash, let their cats out to roam, leave garbage out unprotected, feed wildlife. Any coyotes who lived at or near Ontario Place should have been rehomed before the horrendous redevelopment

I've always thought that mankind will destroy himself after he has destroyed all other living things on this our beautiful earth. An example - the buffalo are finally making a comeback. Interesting how they have an important and positive impact on the earth's eco system. Please do the right thing and repeal this bill. Let Ontario be known as leading by example.
