Yet another attack on the history of Canada!!!!
As A 27 year history teacher and promoter of the greatness of this country and province, I am absolutely appalled that the Ford Government is making it easier for developers to bulldoze our heritage into a landfill. Archaeological assessments rarely stop or slow down a development and when they do it is for a worthwhile reason, like protecting an indigenous settlement or burial site!!!! Pathetic, every legislative change to the Ontario Heritage Act or related announcement like this is yet anther reason why I lobby all my friends and family to not vote Conservative. Cannot wait to see what happens when a developer is caught destroying an archaeological site or burial. The media will be all over that story! Good luck with that Doug.
