I think development and mining should, actually, require ecological assessments, they’re highly impactful to the environment and environmental experts should be able to advise on how we can develop economically in a more sustainable way. Barring this “inefficient” process from taking place is only going to stymie us in the future when the zone becomes an inhabitable wasteland.
