Good day,

I am writing to share my concerns with the new proposed Special Economic Zones Act. I find the language about what it could possibly contain and the lack of detailed criteria very concerning.

From what I read, it seems to propose that the government can decide what is strategic, which area of the province it applies to, for which reason, and offer exemptions from municipal laws or by-laws to any company or individual for whichever specific initiative it chooses.

It feels like far too much power with no limits or criteria.

We have laws and transparency for good reason. This is Canada. There is no need for Special Economic Zones.
