Without substantive prior informed consent involving in-depth consultations and negotiations with First Nations, the proposed changes should be withdrawn.

The proposed changes ignore the vast amounts of methane that will be released into the atmosphere by the mining proposal, thus negating the environmental standards of some of the international trading partners (e.g. EEU) the results of the changes would seek to engage. This the proposed changes are not a benefit to Ontario's prosperity until both First Nations consultations are concluded and the mining operations abide by internationally required environmental trading standards.

The proposed changes also endanger the water and peatlands in the area and downstream from the area such that many First Nations will need to be consulted and many species will need to be considered as habitat systems are impacted by the proposed mining activity. The Endangered Species Act (2007) needs to be the act by which an assessment is made and monitored.

To enhance Ontario's trading future strict Environmental and Reconciliation standards will need to be shown to have been followed, enforced and monitored in any proposed or ongoing mining activity.
