Subject: Strong Objection to Proposed Tower Development Adjacent to Senior Residence
Dear Minister,
I am writing to formally register our strongest opposition to the proposed development of two new high-rise towers near our residence.
We respectfully urge you to veto this proposal and refrain from accepting any revised version unless the following conditions are thoroughly addressed:
a. Meaningful consultation is conducted not only with current land users but also with all individuals who stand to be directly impacted;
b. Comprehensive traffic flow assessments are disclosed in full detail;
c. The proposal strictly adheres to the established living density parameters for the area; and
d. All environmental concerns are resolved to a satisfactory and demonstrable standard.
We have recently purchased a unit in the senior residence currently under construction on the same site, developed by the Mon Sheong Foundation. The introduction of a 38-storey complex will significantly degrade both our quality of life and the surrounding environment. Furthermore, such a height is incompatible with the existing architectural character of the neighborhood.
We are also deeply concerned about the transparency of the process. At the time of purchase, we were not made aware of this current proposal. Only a limited number of buyers received informal verbal suggestions that a second phase might occur—this lack of consistent communication raises serious issues of fairness and informed consent.
We trust that you will consider the profound implications this project would have on current and future residents and act to preserve the integrity of our community.
