Subject: A Vision for Positive Change in the North End

As someone who lives directly across the street from these buildings, I see incredible potential. Potential to bring new people into the area, to revitalize and uplift an already up-and-coming neighborhood, and to support the many thriving businesses along James Street North. Development here could help strike a better balance in the quality of life and diversity of residents, ultimately making our community even stronger.

The people of the North End take deep pride in this area. We deserve something to be proud of, something that reflects the energy, resilience, and vibrancy of our neighborhood. For many, this is their first impression when stepping off the GO Train or visiting the Bayfront and local festivals. Right now, it feels like a forgotten corner. We have an opportunity to change that.

At the same time, I sincerely hope that when demolition begins, consideration is given to the wildlife that has called this space home for many years. Especially the birds and animals that return each spring to raise their young. This small but important gesture would show that progress and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

Let’s build a North End we can all be proud of. Residents, visitors, and wildlife a like.
