This redevelopment MUST be pushed through. This area of James st N has been left to rot for far too long as CN drags it's heels, and has become an unsightly and dangerous blight on the community. The derelict townhomes are being used for all sorts of nefarious criminal activity, undoubtedly dragging down surrounding property values.

Furthermore, we are in the middle of an unprecedented housing and homelessness crisis in Hamilton, something this redevelopment seeks to help address. It is a slap in the face to the Hamiltonians who are dealing with homelessness, astronomical rents prices and low vacancy rates to see what used to be affordable rental housing standing vacant and rotting. CN dragging this out further is unacceptable. PLEASE allow the City of Hamilton to demolish these buildings and begin redeveloping this area into housing that this city DESPERATELY needs.

To continue to allow CN to employ underhanded delay tactics would only serve to send the message that the Government of Ontario prioritizes corporate interests over local residents and vulnerable individuals, and would demonstrate that the Provincial Government misled voters about solving a housing crisis that it won an election promising to address. Make the right decision.
