The impacts of extracting water depend on the location, purpose and the operator. This is why we have the checks and balances we do. Allowing companies to grandfather in new operating companies without going through the permit process means skipping necessary consultation with the public, and the localities that may be affected. This proposal continues to weaken existing environmental protections, and puts our waters at risk.
