Hello,
I'd like to comment on the proposed amendment to the Devil's Glen Management plan which includes the rock climbing permissions. As a business owner in the outdoor industry and an Ontario climber, I am overjoyed to hear about this amendment. Thank you for considering the climbing community in this proposal.
For decades, our Ontario community has looked to other recreational outdoor areas such as British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta, and many areas in the states, with envy and admiration. Many of these public and private land managers have found ways to allow nearby land owners and residents to live in harmony with a variety of recreational users - including rock climbers - while Ontario has struggled with doing the same for a long time. I am so grateful to know that Ontario Parks is moving toward a land management plan that may provide all visitors more equitable access for generations, all while encouraging conservation and stewardship of those lands.
