I strongly support the proposed amendment to the Devil’s Glen Provincial Park Management Plan that would officially recognize rock climbing as a permitted activity.

Rock climbing is a low-impact, human powered, nature-based sport that fosters deep respect for the environment and builds strong bodies & connected communities. Ontario’s climbing community has long demonstrated its commitment to stewardship, safety, and collaboration with land managers, and we look forward to continued partnership with Ontario Parks. Formalizing climbing access at Devil’s Glen is a meaningful step forward—one that aligns with Ontario Parks’ mission to support recreation while protecting sensitive habitants and natural heritage.

We welcome the introduction of a climbing management plan and appreciate the thoughtful engagement with stakeholders throughout this process. This amendment will not only support responsible recreation, but also ensure long-term sustainability through education, conservation, and community involvement.
