My name is Tony Irwin and I am President & CEO of the Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario, the leading voice of Ontario’s purpose-build rental housing industry. I am writing regarding ERO number 025-1108. Specifically, FRPO is concerned that this proposal will stop much needed rental housing units from being built at 1875 Steeles Avenue West at time when more housing, especially projects that include a mix of market and affordable rental units is desperately needed. FRPO would encourage the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing to enlist the Office of the Provincial Land and Development Facilitator to work with all parties to find an amicable resolution.
