Seventy years ago when…

Seventy years ago when Hurricane Hazel hit, awareness was raised about the dangers of flooding. Conservation authorities have worked well since then to study the lay of the land and the flow of water in their own areas. People are informed of flooding risks before construction takes place.
What will happen if these areas are enlarged to such an extent that the same level of care and oversight can no longer be achieved? The destruction stemming from flooding will far outweigh any cost savings that the government is predicting.
Please reconsider changing the system as it stands today.
