As a Natural Resources Management student, I support modernization of conservation system when it improves efficiency, but I am concerned that consolidation may reduce ecological effectiveness. Watersheds functions as natural ecological units and management must remain region specific. I encourage the Ministry to maintain watershed based governance, protect technical expertise at the local level, and ensure that environmental monitoring species at risk protection and public education program are not reduced by these changes.
