I am not in favor of consolidating the conservation authorities, local authorities in my opinion have a better understanding of what is needed in a smaller area that they are familiar with and can make decisions more quickly especially in emergency situations.
For example the rising lake levels from 2021 to 2023 on Lake St Clair where on the verge of bursting the dikes that held the water back from flooding thousands of prime agricultural land along with residential and small communities. The LTVCA along with the Chatham- Municipal Drainage Department didn't hesitate to jump into action to prevent what would have been a disaster had they waited even a few more hours to decide what to do.
