Consolidating tools and resources - great idea! Consolidating THIRTY-SIX conservation regions into SEVEN - less so. I live in Prince Edward county and Quinte Conservation already covers such a vast & ecologically diverse area with so few people. Expanding territory to sweep a much larger area with broad strokes (and then presumably lay off half of the employees within after a few months) is hardly going to help us learn better from the land and care for our local resources. Please, please, please keep conservation authorities local and support better funding and education across regions.
Hoping that Tyendinaga Mohawk leadership have been consulted on this decision as well.
