This is the most ridiculous proposal from many perspectives and is NOT DESIRED by the Town of Oakville or the vast majority of its citizens. The density is absolutely excessive and unnecessary; the developer is already cancelling other projects, likely because it is in deep financial distress; the latest piece of strategy allowing four Ministers' Zoning orders is ludicrous and should be deemed illegal; we already know that this developer is in Doug Ford's pocket and Ford displays his usual disregard for logic, stakeholders opinions, public outcry and bullying tactics that often come back to haunt him (Greenbelt Scandal, Training Budget allocations, Speed Cameras, excessive public advertisements blowing the Government's horn; and singlehandedly throwing Tariff negotiations totally off the rails by antagonizing another classic narcissistic bully who engages in the same tactics; Ontario place: etcetera, etcetera). He needs to stay in his lane and let municipal Governments like Oakville, who have "strong" mayors (whatever that means these days) run their municipalities in line with what the citizens of those entities desire. In particular, Oakville is rated among the top municipalities in Ontario, with a very well-thought of mayor, both internally and externally. As such, the Province needs to listen to what these stakeholders are saying, instead of steamrolling this initiative, with no ability of the people who will be impacted forever by this lunacy to stop it now before Billions of dollars are wasted!
