It is unclear what value, if any, amalgamating the conservation authorities will provide. Given there is no financial aspect to this proposal, it could be a very expensive undertaking. I am concerned it will harm our water quality and environmental integrity by undermining local decision making and causing a severe reduction in important local services. This will put our communities at risk of flooding and harmful water pollution. Please ensure that you understand how important the services CAs provide are before you destroy the ability of local communities to protect ourselves from environmental risks.
