I am deeply concerned by and against the proposal to reduce the number of Conservation Authorities to only 7. Local knowledge, availability, and relationships are important.
Any changes should be made in consultation with and advice from member Authorities, municipalities that pay for the bulk of the services, and First Nation communities whose Lands these decisions impact.
I'm concerned by the continued trend of lack of meaningful consultation when it comes to changes.
