I do not agree with this…

I do not agree with this proposal on a number of fronts. However, there may be value to some of the ideas which should be looked at. We would suggest other methodologies might be used to achieve some of the end results and because of that we suggest a pause during which time the municipalities, conservation authorities, stakeholders, indigenous groups and the public could give comment.

I disagree with this proposal because municipalities pay the lion's share of the cost of the authorities, and they and the people they serve would be subsumed in the huge areas that they cover. Local municipalities know the needs and science of their areas and each municipality is different. Our CA is efficient, works well with its municipalities and is represented on its board by local elected officials.

The proposal is missing much detail, especially about who will make ups the Regional and Provincial Boards. Until we know more, I am personally not in favour of the idea whatsoever.
