I am opposed to the proposed consolidation of the Sault Ste. Marie area into a regional conservation authority that includes North Bay and Sudbury.

I would like to see the existing conservation authorities in Northern Ontario maintained, as they reflect our unique geographic realities and ensure strong local representation with respect to municipal levies, community-focused service delivery, and the protection and management of conservation lands.

Historically, consolidations of this nature have resulted in Northern Ontario interests taking a back seat to the priorities of larger Southern Ontario centres. There is no reason to believe this proposed consolidation would be any different.

Please leave Northern Ontario conservation authorities as they currently exist.
