As an elementary teacher, I have worked several times over the course of my career with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. Our school yard has mature native species that were planted as a collaborative project twenty years ago. This project was valuable to the students who took part in, and it continues to provide value to the students who benefit from having these plants on the yard.
It would be awful if Conservation Authorities decreased the rate at which they did work like this.
In general, land developers and speculators seem to have lots of money. The current system seems to have been very prosperous for them. I don’t think we need to make things easier for them, as the status quo seems to be quite lucrative from their perspective.
