This is a terrible idea that will erode environmental protection, allow building in protected areas (hazard lands, floodplains, wetlands) without oversight, put money into the pockets of builders and destroy a system that works perfectly well on a watershed basis. A larger region will mean the smaller rural communities will lose their voice. This proposal did not work for the school boards or the health units and it will not work for the conservation authorities.
