The proposal to reduce the number of conservation agencies by amalgamating them into larger entities does not take into account local interests. This has happened over and over again with LHINS and health units. When they are amalgamated local interests are minimized or ignored.
I am not in support of the amalgamation of numerous smaller conservation authorities into 'mega agencies' serving large areas of this province.
