I am fully in support of this Bill on a number of fronts. It is clear that more land and infrastructure is required to handle the growth in and around the GTA. I truly believe that residents of municipalities should have a greater say in what and where is developed in their municipalities. There have been many technological changes to environmental management since the creation of Greenbelt and Oak Ridges acts - we may well be in a position to develop with zero impact on the environment. The whole issue of the integrity of the information and assumptions is a question that should have been addressed many years ago - there has been too much weight given to special interest groups who really are basing everything on their opinions - not scientific fact
