I am completely opposed to this omnibus bill. While I appreciate and support many of the ideas in principle, like creating more affordable housing, I am extremely disappointed that Species at Risk have less protection in this bill and that many of the sections like development charges to developers will be altered in ways that will reduce the municipalities' ability to use the money to create parkland and sustain what we have. This is critical in urban areas as greedy,bad planning in the distant past has made many urban areas have a lack of park space and our natural areas in particular are suffering degradation and ecological damage from previous development that was done without rules, and the charges that are currently charged help to remediate some of the damage by stewardship, invasive plant removal and planting of native species, will be reduced or disappear. This is a sector that hardly receives any funding in the first place. To remove the little money this sector gets is short sighted and just mean.
