Re: Protecting Water for Future Generati. We are strongly supportive of this direction, and suggest that the Province be more explicit in stating the objectives or principles for the current Greenbelt expansion in a standalone subsection – both to emphasize why Greenbelt expansion is necessary and to facilitate , where available, should be used to inform areas where addition to the Greenbelt should be prioritized to reduce vulnerability. We understand that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is preparing to undertake a province-wide climate change vulnerability assessment that would include ecosystem vulnerabilities. The vulnerability assessment described in the Natural Systems Vulnerability to Climate Change in Peel Region Report may be a useful reference for methods for the Province to follow to grow the Greenbelt based on concerns for natural system vulnerability and the security of municipal water supply.
