Schedule 3: I am alarmed to see this schedule included in Bill 257. The main focus of Bill 257 is well intentioned. Why is Schedule 3 attached?
MZOs Ministers' Zoning Orders should be applied only in very rare circumstances. They are not meant to circumvent our enviable system of both municipal and Conservation area land protection.
I feel angry when I hear of lands certified environmentally sensitive being developed. I also feel embarrassed. Do we live in a province where backroom deals and favours to developers are more important than the standards our province has approved? Claiming that MZOs have the advantage of speeding up business red-tape to benefit us all is a laughable statement. I urge adhering to our system of land protection - to benefit all Ontarians. Keep municipal zoning and conservation lands intact - where development might be an option, continue our system of public consultation.
