I believe that modifying legislation to allow "streamlined" use of lands subject close to rivers and lakes in the province will both put new housing develop at risk from flooding, and also add risk of contamination to the water sources we use for drinking water, flood control, climate change mitigation and recreation in the province.
As we've seen very recently in BC and Newfoundland, changes in rainfall and unusual storms are becoming more and more common. Areas that were thought to be protected or "far enough" from lakes/rivers/shorelines were destroyed by "unusual" weather events. Ontario has also seen unusual water levels recently in Lake Ontario (as residents of Toronto experienced last year when large parts of Toronto Island were submerged for a large part of the year).
Please do not "streamline" the exploitation of these sensitive areas, but seek to increase density in areas that are already developed and can support more people quite easily.
