This is nothing more than a land grab by greedy developers, that are likely good friends with Mr. Ford, or are at least big financial donors to the Conservative party in Ontario. We need rich, healthy farm land, and it shouldn't be chopped up and sold off for the financial gains of a few greedy people.

Toronto should be creating higher density within the borders of the existing city, not sprawling out, building more highways, and creating the situations where people need to keep cars to commute further and further to work.

This mind-set is in direct opposition to environmental progress made in other areas. Stop burying farm land under pavement.
