I am absolutely appalled that train and trial areas have been going on since 1997. To trap and contain wild animals for the purpose of training dogs or for sport is barbaric and cruel. These animals have potentially been trapped and then introduced as bait to an area that is fenced, with no possible way to escape. Already traumatized by their capture, they must feel absolute terror. This progamme was supposed to be phased out. There must have been reason for that. I am absolutely disgusted that expanding this horror is even being considered. Rather than phasing out or expanding, it should be abolished immediately!
