I am firmly against any proposal that expands the use of live animals for hunt training purposes. There are alternatives that can be used to train the dogs, such as the scent drags used for fox hunting on horseback now. The dogs pursue the dragged scent, rather than live game.
The rationale that we should regulate it or risk it going underground is a false one. Should we legalize and regulate dog and cock fighting? The animal being pursued is running for its life and no being deserves to be put through that kind of stress for sport.
