GreenFirst Forest Products (GFFP) supports the Gov't proposal to set-out a new conditional exemption for Black Ash until a new proposed regulatory approach can be implemented. That includes extending the exemption to Jan 2025 if necessary. GFFP also agrees with the Gov't proposed exceptions that allow forest operations to continue in accordance with a plan developed by an Ontario Registered Professional Forester and that prescribes that reasonable steps be taken to avoid adverse effects to Black Ash.
