The world’s leading climate scientists have warned there is only a dozen years for global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5C. If this is not done, the storms, droughts, extreme heat and famine being experienced throughout the world and here in Canada (summer heat wave, tornados nin Ottawa , etc) will continue to get worse.
Arguably, the previous government may have paid too much to encourage clean energy projects, but their emphasis on wind and solar power is absolutely the way to go from an economic and ecological perspective. Your focus on lowering gas prices and rolling back is a step backward and a lost opportunity which will result in Ontario missing out on clean energy jobs in favour of dirty technologies and leaving a mess for future generations.
I want to see concrete plans to penalize polluters and redirect the dollars to developing and increasing clean energy to stem climate change and enable us to meet our Paris Accord commitments.
