Please restore the visionary Waterloo Region Official Plan originally approved in August 2022.
It was approved after months of consultation, by elected representatives of all 7 lower tier and our one upper tier municipalities. It set aside enough land to meet the housing needs identified by the Ministry. True, it did it in a different way than the Ministry had suggested, but the end goal was met.

Rather than quashing creativity, the Minister should reward thinking that not only meets the Ministry's stated end goals, but adds in the extra value of saving thousands of acres of first class farmland, and creating denser communities where transportation emissions can be avoided.

Waterloo Region farmland is some of the best in the province.
The original visionary plan showed we could grow housing and food at the same time.
Please restore it.
