I am in favour of maintaining the Cap and Trade program initiated by the previous government. We have seen that implementing a carbon tax makes a difference in reducing emissions and when the money is spent directly supporting citizens and communities, it is an effective plan. The recent IPCC report indicates that we must act to mitigate the negative impact of climate change, and as the recent Nobel Laureates in Economics found, a carbon tax must be part of the strategy to address climate change.
