CHAR TECH THOROLD GP INC. as general partner for and on behalf of CHAR Bioveld Thorold LP - Environmental Compliance Approval (waste)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) with Operational Flexibility for the use and operation of a thermal treatment facility located at 3363 Davis Road, Thorold, Ontario.

The facility will have a total site area of 0.65 hectares and will be used for processing solid, non-hazardous waste consisting of clean wood waste up to 240 tonnes per day and 70,000 tonnes per year. The total amount of wood waste stored at the site shall not exceed 450 tonnes at any time. Processes to be used include the production of biocarbon and renewable natural gas.

The thermal treatment facility is to serve the Province of Ontario. The hours of operation of the thermal treatment facility will be 24 hours per day, seven days per week with 91 percent (%) up time (i.e., approximately 8,000 hours).

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Operational Flexibility (waste), when issued, permits pre-determined modifications to the site’s operations without a requirement to make an application for amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (waste).
