Leave the cormorants alone. I love watching them in the summer. Do we have to make another species extinct to please humans. All guano is toxic. I have a balcony full of pigeon guano because I can't get anyone to do anything about it. Lire davantage

I am opposed to this proposal. Leave the birds alone and allow natural forces to play. On the Big Rideau osprey and eagles prey on the cormorant chicks. It is well known that humans are the biggest threat to fish and lakes. Lire davantage

In regards to a hunting season for double crested Cormorants. I feel a hunting season would be beneficial as these birds have become overpopulated. I spend a lot of time in Georgian bay where these birds devistated the fishing for many years. Lire davantage

I am very supportive of this proposal. It is a common-sense approach to active ecosystem management. For the health of the Great Lakes fish community and riparian habitats, I hope the American's take notice and follow suit.

Cormorants almost destroyed the Koy fish population I had in our one acre rural pond which were helping to control an overgrowth of duck weed. They also have depleted our loon population at our cottage. I support the proposed resolution. You

For every fish a cormorant eats, it kills 6-9 that it does not eat. We had a problem with cormorants that left us with the task of cleaning up the dead fish that they left.

As an active fisherman and hunter on Balsam Lake, I've personally witnessed the ecological impact these pests have caused. The population of these birds has exploded to the point were you can see hundreds on the water. Lire davantage

I support the hunt as in the Eastern Lake Erie basin we have 10's of thousands of these nuisance birds slowing destroying the local tree shore lines, please make this hunting happen to minimize the destruction.

Absolutely agree with the proposed open season for cormorants. They’re a nuisance and adversely affect the local wildlife and fish population at Bear Lake, Sprucedale and all surrounding lakes. They’re an invasive species and need to be brought under control.

This is one of the most disgusting 'hunting' proposals I have ever heard....it will be an excuse for gun loving Cowboys to murder birds. I live on a lake. We see Cormorants, loons, ducks, herons, geese Osprey, and Eagles on a regular basis. Lire davantage

I am rather disgusted by making a change that allows anybody to play with their guns by shooting any cormorant they happen to see. I am appalled by the change that will allow any gun freak to just shoot a passing bird then leave it to rot wherever it lies

I am in agreement with the proposed changes, a hunting season to reduce the numbers of cormorants would benefit our lakes. The overpopulation is creating pollution in the water and rivers and is killing the fish! Lire davantage

Good morning as a resident of Lake couchiching I already know that these birds have pretty well totally destroyed one Island that looks like it's covered in snow all year round when in fact it's bird poop. I'm supporting the need to have these birds controlled.
