I am completely opposed to the redesignation of lands in the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan area. Our green spaces must remain protected at all costs!
I'm pleading as a mother of three children that you do not develop the greenbelt protected land for the sake of their future. Children don't have the voices for political forces to hear but please do your diligence in protecting these green spaces. BUILD UP not out.

The greenbelt should be protected at all costs, especially in the face of a climate emergency. The greenbelt also prevents urban sprawl and protects Ontarians’ access to local food, clean drinking water and natural areas.

According to the Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force, land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts. The report goes on to state that greenbelts and other environmentally sensitive areas MUST BE PROTECTED.

What is the point of having protected Green Space if a government can come in and make changes that go against all recommendations from scientists and experts? This backwards thinking fuels greed which is at the root of so many societal issues.

There is nothing in this proposal that ensures affordable housing is being built and there is plenty of room across the developed lands in this province to increase housing sufficiently through infilling, building low rise apartment buildings, duplexes and quadplexes.

I oppose the removal of Greenbelt lands in the Oak Ridges Moraine as per my comments under ero 019-6216. To re-iterate in part, it is not in the public interest to remove these lands.

Leave the. Greenbelt alone.
Selling protected land to the premier's developer buddies right before it's "un-protected" is a sneaky, rotten move -- no one is fooled.

The studies have been done - the Greenbelt doesn't NEED this expansion to accommodate new housing. This policy, like all of this conservative government's policies, only serves to benefit Premier Gourd and a select group of his political misfits.

Greenbelt is an important part of ecosystem. Cutting down parts of Rouge Park will not solve the housing crisis. On the contrary elimination of green space would make GTA more unlivable.
I am horrified that this government is so short sighted as to think that destroying critical habitats and farmland in order to further urban sprawl is a good idea.

There is so much wrong with this proposal. Ontarians don’t believe your denials that you are not doing this to benefit your developer friends. Figure out another way to build 50,000 homes.
As a Family Doctor in Ontario, I can confidently attest that time in nature positively impacts the mental and physical health of my patients.

This is a very irresponsible move on the part of the government who is supposed to represent the voice of the public. I cannot believe that anyone would think this is a good idea to change the ruling on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Stop this now!

The Oak Ridges Moraine protected lands need to be retained to save our environment and fight climate change. We should be working on creating affordable housing for newcomers in areas already designated as residential and not catering to the developers who stand to make money from this.
