I agree with the changes. The sea containers or other living structures should not be on the water. The water is for intended boats / pleasure crafts. Great clarification near the bottom.

I'm very concerned with these unsightly floating shipping containers. Most of my concern is with the Grey water & Black water discharge. No one will be able to monitor that. We had one docked not too far afrom us, it makes no sense that they can park a triple container anywhere they want.

As a waterfront property owner on Go Home Lake in Township of Georgian Bay, I fully support the proposed amendments to the regulations for camping over water. These changes are in my view fair, balanced and protect the interests of both vacationing boaters and property owners.

We agree with the new regulations but don’t think they go far enough. Actually we don’t think the container cottages should be allowed at all. We are concerned about the gray water (even if that is all it is), the possibility of fuel spills, lake bottom disturbances, fish habitat. Lire davantage

I am happy with the proposal however, I would also like to see a season for these floating buildings. We are not allowed to disrupt or alter the bottom or shoreline of ponds, lakes and rivers from March 15th to July 15th of each year due to spawning and breeding beds. Lire davantage

I strongly encourage a tightening of restrictions on the definition of watercraft versus floating homes or cottages. Lire davantage

The Ontario government MUST amend Ontario Regulation 161/17 to PRECLUDE floating accommodations from being able to anchor at crown lands. They are taking advantage of the situation by bypassing municipal and environmental regulations.

Anyone who can not afford a house should be able to have a floating accomodation if they so choose. They can be just as sustainable as long as there is sewage regulation and proper water filtration. Enough squeezing the people and let them build within reason and live. Lire davantage

Under no circumstance should floating accommodations be allowed on public (crown) waterways. Items to consider include, but are not limited to: 1) The risk that they create for other boaters and recreational users -- not only the structure itself, but line of sight and navigational issues/risks, Lire davantage

We need to highly regulate this new development of camping on water. These vessels are eyesores and contribute nothing to the local municipality in the way of property taxes etc. The harder it is for these vessels to park on our lakes the better.

HATE these. There is no bylaws to control the environmental impact, they don’t pay taxes like property owners. They have no respect because so many are transient air bnb guests. Hate them, please make them stop. Polluters.

As a resident of Ontario which is part of Canada, I find it disgusting that our MNRF uses the American spelling of metres and kilometres etc. Please get a grip on where we live. I'm in general agreement with the proposed regulation changes since they seem to address the concerns mentioned. Lire davantage

Floating accommodations have no regulations or standards, which means that they can be a serious hazzard to boaters, our waters, fish and wild life, not to mention the people on them. They are a terrible eye sore for people who have paid a lot of money for waterfront properties to look at . Lire davantage

We believe the use of floating structures for camping should not be allowed. Structures at minimum should be required to be at least 500 m from any shoreline or island, and no more than 7 days consecutive. Agree with relocation a minimum of 1 kilometer from previous mooring point.
