Floating accommodations should not be allowed! They are disturbing to the environment in many ways.
They upset wildlife.
They ruin the beauty of the lakes.
Noise pollution
Water pollution
Environmental stress
No floating accommodations!

These floating houses are unsightly and a nuisance! No taxes being paid while the home/ cottage owners that are paying taxes need to look at these ugly things anchored out in their view. What happens to their waste?? Grey water?? What happens when they start to rot??

Stop the floating container. It is a disgrace to be on our waterways. They do not pay any taxes to be out there and they totally abuse environment with all the gray water.

Floating containers should never be allowed on the lakes. Your proposed changes will help if we can’t stop them. You have mentioned most of the points I have written about before so I won’t repeat them. All the environmental issues are valid concerns.

This proposal sounds reasonable and fair and addresses the serious issues these floating accomodations present. Amendments may be needed after these restrictions are tested.
As a waterfront cottager for over 12 years who has paid a considerable amount of taxes, I agree with the changes and find the current floating homes unfair and very concerning. Part of our tax payment goes toward emergency services, garbage disposal and general betterment of our community.

Fully supported !!! Many of these are an eyesore and do not reflect the spirit in which the original regulations were intended.
The new amendments are very reasonable and still allow for everyone to enjoy the water !
These seem like good changes that are necessary to help support the tax base of the local municipalities.
Without them there is significant risk of impairment to the tax base that supports and pays for municipal services and employment.
I feel these type of dwellings to be restricted to specific areas and only for short time frames. They should be taxed as they use the local services. Don’t clog our.beautiful waterways.
My biggest concern with allowing the floating containers on the Trent is the impact on the environment. But there are so many other issues attached to these containers.

Permitting floating campsites is a terrible idea. I’ve seen land campsites and the garbage that is left behind is atrocious. How will the lake be cleaned after waste is dumped? Human destructive impact is inevitable. Please keep it contained to land where the impact can be cleaned up.

I own a waterfront property and the container in Gloucester Pool/Little Lake is a total eyesore. They are not contributing to the communities, they are just taking free. They never leave that location all summer long, where does all their waste go?

Permits should be issued as they are with camping
All waste needs to properly disposed of - rules to be made about testing the water surrounding the floating homes to make sure human waste is not being dumped into the water -
As a respectful owner and taxpayer of a permanent waterfront resident , I totally support the changes to protect our environment, by not allowing these floating vessels.

As the son of a cottaging parents, and now maintainer of their 64 year old boat access property on Go Home Lake, I am vehemently against any type of floating accommodations being permitted on the shores of our lakes.
