Bike lanes are an important part of the infrastructure in the city. And removing them will increase the traffic on the roads as these folks who ride bikes will drive cars instead. Please keep the bike lanes alive.

Wow, this is the EXACT OPPOSITE thing you should do to reduce gridlock- we need MORE bike paths, not less! Lire davantage

My wife and I are in our late sixties, and we live in the downtown west end. We rely, as we have done for most of our lives, on bicycle as our primary means of getting around. We cycle practically every day, save for truly inclement weather. We don't even own a car. Lire davantage

We need less traffic and highways and more trams/trains/public transit (including safe bike lanes). Why not put more effort into giving more access to public transit to reduce the need for vehicles. Lire davantage

Re: the proposed bike lane closure idea. This is a travesty. This is going backwards. Crazy idea. It's only going to slow down traffic even more as bicycles will have to drive in traffic! HFB

I have been cycling in Toronto since about 2008 when there were fewer bike lanes. Cycling is so much easier and safer now that there are more bike lanes. I appreciate the bike lanes very much. And beyond that, the idea that the premier should be consulted on local matters seems like an over reach. Lire davantage

This proposal to remove the incredible progress of bikelanes in Toronto in recent years is a huge step backwards. Without safe places to cycle, people are reticent to consider cycling as a primary mode of transportation. Lire davantage

Protected bike lanes are important for keeping everyone safe. Food delivery people, commuters, youth, people going to social events, etc., rely on these lanes to get around safely especially in a city like Toronto with congestion and unreliable transit. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are essential for safe streets. The cost of removing them is a waste of money that is desperately needed for health care.

As a physician and cyclist in Toronto, I implore the government to give consideration to safety over travel times. While the construction of the new lanes certainly slowed traffic, these lanes are now in place and are proving to be a very effective shared use of the street. Lire davantage

PLEASE KEEP THE BIKE LANES. It will take time for cities to grow accustomed to them, and by removing them. you are erasing all of the hard work done within the community over the last decade. Lire davantage

Please do not get rid of the bike lanes. They are good for health, local businesses and the vibrancy of our city. They save lives.

I totally oppose this legislation for the following reasons: -increased risk of serious accidents and injuries for bicycle riders -no benefit for traffic because it prevents people from using bicycles for transportation -based on no credible data Lire davantage

This is massive provincial overreach. Urban transportation is a municipal issue and people in other parts of the province should not have a say over how cities handle their transportation infrastructure, especially when they pay no taxes into the affected city.

It’s sad to see Toronto going backwards in time to favor automobiles over cleaner, better, faster alternatives to transportation. Give us reliable transit alternatives, give us bike lanes!

Removal of bike lanes I use every day is only going to force me into the traffic of the road. Isn’t that going to be even worse for traffic and put my life in danger? This is complete insanity, these things just got built and we’re already taking them out?

Removing bike infrastructure is insane. Toronto already is lacking in safe pathways to encourage more people to cycle and remove cars from the road. Removing this infrastructure is wasteful of tax payer dollars and will put another car on the road for each cyclist that can no longer cummute safely. Lire davantage

Do not remove bike lanes on Bloor!! The only reason I feel safe biking instead of driving!! Gerrard street btw has NO bike lanes and it is constantly wall to wall traffic 4 pm on! Cars are constantly stopping in the no stopping lanes! Not a bike issue at all !!!

The province should stay in its own lane (so to speak) and let Toronto figure out what’s best for Toronto. It’s embarassing from a sustainability point of view that the province wants to support cars rather than bikes. Lire davantage
