We need to move forward as a city, not backwards. Let's look to cities in Europe for how to create cities that put people first, not cars.

As a cyclist, I cherish any and all bike lanes. They relieve traffic gridlock, get me outside and save me so much travel time and money!!

Bike lines are essential for human safety. This is so shortsighted. Also this will create unnecessary delays and bureaucracy. Municipalities are best positioned to know the biking needs of their towns.

Bill 212 is very regressive for the city if Toronto. Eliminating bike lanes will be detrimental to the safety of bikers, pedestrians and vehicles. Bill 212 is not a solution as has quite the opposite effect of reducing traffic.

Crazy proposal to spend so much and effectively move backwards, bikers and bike lanes save this city from even worse traffic. Construction and more cars will do the opposite.

NO! Do not remove bike lanes. It’s a waste of tax payers money to remove something that protects bikers and potentially life saving.

Removing bike lines is unthinkably regressive and idiotic. Removing them at huge tax payer cost is inexcusable and will do nothing to reduce gridlock. This initiative is an international embarrassment.

This legislation is an inappropriate waste of resources that will worsen the conditions it purportedly seeks to address, and make getting around more difficult for Ontarians, regardless of which mode they use. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes won’t resolve car congestion. That’s an issue on every main street in the city whether there’s a designated bike lane or not. The issue is the public transit options are limited and unreliable forcing city dwellers to cars and bikes. Lire davantage

I used to drive to work every day, just another vehicle on the road containing a single occupant because the transit system here in London, Ontario does not enable me to drop my boy at school and make it to work on time. There is a now a bike lane that I can take to work, and I use it every day. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are important ! On all roads! Removing them will only put more people in cars and will not help with sustainability goals of Ontario cities

This bill - when pertaining specifically to bike lanes - does not follow the majority of the research and studies done that focus around the social and economic impact of bike lanes and cyclists. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are crucial to reducing GHG emissions and leading the transition to a more walkable, bikeability society. Without this infrastructure, we don't allow for the modal shift away from cars, since it is significantly more dangerous and uncomfortable. Lire davantage

Keep the bike lanes and expand cycling infrastructure across the entire city. It is safer to have bike lanes and it will reduce emergency room visits and strain on the health care system. Not only that, but it is healthy for people to cycle and get exercise! Lire davantage

As an Ontarian who relies on bike lanes for daily commuting, I strongly oppose this bill proposal. Removing bike lanes from municipal roads would undermine years of progress toward creating safe, sustainable, and efficient transportation infrastructure in Ontario. 1. Bike rider safety should not be compromised for the perception of motor vehicle convenience. Cyclists will be injured and killed because of this legislation. The conservative government will be held accountable.

Removal of Environmental Assessment requirements in advance of early works associated with highway development is a cynical and bad faith procedure that will lock in route options prior to all mandatory investigations and consultation, not least with Indigenous Nations who have a right to that consu Lire davantage

Tearing up the bike lanes that cost $40 million and that thousands of bikers use, instead of using cars is ludicrous. I am strongly opposed.

It is completely insensible to get rid of the bike lanes. i am completely pro bike lanes. it is a waste of money to remove the bike lanes that already exist.
