I am absolutely opposed to this proposal. As a lifelong Torontonian and cyclist, now with a new family, I am horrified to think of reducing safety for myself, my child and my fellow bike riders on this city’s streets. Lire davantage

Don’t agree with removing bike lanes. We need to make the city safer for cyclists.

Thank you Mr. Ford. Bike lanes never on major roads. Secondary roads only.

I do not want the bikes lanes to be removed. This is a bad plan. It will make bike riders less safe and it will not improve traffic. The bike riders will not go away, they just will be in the same lane as the cars adding stress for everyone involved. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are essential for promoting safer and more sustainable transportation options. They encourage more people to cycle, reducing the number of cars on the road, which is the real cause of traffic congestion. Lire davantage

This is a waste of money and resources. The conservatives will not receive my vote if this passes.

Transportation policy should not be based solely around commuting to and from work. People travel for many more reasons than just work, and choose the mode that is appropriate to both the need and conditions. People use bikes for more than just going to and from work. Lire davantage

I'm very upset with the Ford government proposing to reduce bike lanes in favour of car lanes and force municipalities to apply for provincial approval before adding bikes lanes that would reduce car lanes! Lire davantage

No modern civilization should be impeding efforts to support cycling as a method of commuting throughout urban spaces. Not only are there significant mental and physical health benefits to active means of travel, but also there are significant economic and environmental benefits as well. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are very important in keeping safe in getting to and from work. I know it might seem that it adds additional gridlock, but if you remove bike lanes, hundreds of folks will be instead relying on automobiles to get around. Lire davantage

The Ontario Government's proposal to remove bike lanes on Bloor, University and Yonge is a step backwards. These bike lanes are heavily used, improve Toronto's air quality and the overall health of those who use them, and are key to maintaining the safety of cyclists. Lire davantage

I do not support removing bike lanes nor creating additional provincial red tape for the implementation of new bike lanes. I live in Toronto. Year after year in this city, bike share ridership has been increasing quickly and at a steady rate. Lire davantage

I’m a conservative and I voted for this government. However, as a driver and a mother, I disapprove of Bill 212, and the recent urban planning decisions the government has been making since those decisions have not been rooted in research. Lire davantage

Removal of bike lanes in the city of Toronto is a gross overreach by the province. The bike lanes were installed after decades of planning and study and their presence is supported by considerable evidence. Removing them will have no effect whatsoever on traffic. Lire davantage

Traffic in Toronto is an urban planning issue that has nothing to do with the bike lanes. Removing bike lanes does not remove the cyclists. Without them, you will have cars and bikes together on the same narrow road, causing cars to move slower in and around the individuals cycling. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes right after completing them is a waste of money! Removing them won't even add additional car lanes due to on street parking! Bike lanes encourage more people to bike instead of driving, which reduces car traffic! Lire davantage

Bike lanes save lives. There will still be cyclists on the roads without bike lanes, their lives will just be at a greater risk of being struck by a vehicle. Lire davantage

Removing our bike lanes is a travesty. World class cities have world class infrastructure and that means bike lanes. What a colossal waste of money not to mention the environmental impact. Surely there are better things our tax dollars could be spent on. Leave our lanes alone.

I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the Ontario government's proposal to remove sections of the Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue bike lanes in Toronto, and to require provincial approval for new bike lanes that eliminate existing lanes of motor vehicle traffic.
