Bike lanes are crucial to a healthy, and environmentally friendly downtown core. Most importantly, bike lanes in the City of Toronto should be a discussion that remains municipal. To have the province holding power over something that is inherently municipal is extremely unfair, and bias. Lire davantage

No amount of roads/lanes will be able to keep up with Toronto's growing population. We need to concentrate on less space-hogging modes of transportation, and that includes bikes and public transit. Lire davantage

Removal of a bike lane will only mean more risk to me and my loved ones. The Danforth feels safe and it's a great ability for people to be able to get to Toronto core from Danforth East within 30 mins on bike lane. Lire davantage

I object to the removal of bike lanes, the expropriation of land, and the removal of environmental protections so that roads can be built faster.

I use my bike to get around the city for more than half of the year and I use Bloor street bike lanes almost daily to get to my workplace. Getting rid of this bikelane among all the other ones scares me as already I have been hit by cars in other street without (and with) bike lanes. Lire davantage

The proposed legislation will do very little regarding gridlock in the urban centres and may even worsen gridlock. There is no evidence provided by the minister regarding the causes of gridlock in the municipalities. Some of the Minister's public comments were even evidently false. Lire davantage

Bike lines save lives. Don’t be stupid - keep bike lanes. Traffic moves faster. People are safer.

This is a gross overreach of provincial power. It services only a privileged few and is discriminatory against the less protected cyclists of the city - making them more likely to be injured or killed by simply trying to commute to and from work.

As both a driver and a cyclist, I am opposed to the forced removal of bike lanes. We need to get people out of their cars to reduce gridlock, including investing in better infrastructure for cyclists and improving public transit. Lire davantage

This is obviously a ridiculous, unpopular opinion. After enduring closed roads, traffic delays, and temporary pedestrian walkways in order to have safe bike lanes, our government wants to start over and rip it all up. Lire davantage

am a driver and a cyclist. Traffic is very bad in Toronto, but removing the Bloor bike lanes will not solve that. Studies show that bike lanes are a good thing, and increase business! Lire davantage

I think Mr. Ford should concentrate on being the premier of the province and stop trying to be both premier and mayor of Toronto. Might I suggest that if he insists on being involved in municipal policies, he focus on the completion of his late brother’s cross town subway project.

In response to Bill 212, it's important to highlight the numerous benefits of incorporating bike lanes into city infrastructure. Dedicated bike lanes significantly improve safety by reducing the risk of accidents between cyclists and motor vehicles, making roads safer for everyone. Lire davantage

The roadway along Bloor West should be returned to two lanes. Bikes can use nearby Annette which is a less congested and safer for cyclists.

This is a foolish proposal solely aimed at gaining suburban votes. The only way to truly reduce congestion is by removing cars from the roads - a goal achievable through better public transit and active transportation infrastructure. Lire davantage
