I deeply disagree with trying to change bike lanes into motor vehicle lanes. With additional vehicle lanes, there increased risk to pedestrians, bikers and other vehicles. The higher the number of people, the higher the risk and more accidents resulting in more delays. Lire davantage

I live on the side street off of bloor, traffic comes off of Bloor and onto our streets which is a safety concern. I have been riding my bike in toronto for over 55 years and the bike lanes don’t make me any safer. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes will endanger my life and those of my loved ones. Research has repeatedly shown that widening roads makes congestion worse. We need to dramatically reduce carbon emissions, and encouraging people to bike is an important part of this reduction. Lire davantage

Thank you, thank you, than you. I live on Marlborough between Yonge and Avenue Rd I live in terror, given the current situation, that I’ll need fire police or ambulance at rush hour when both roads are gridlocked due to bike lanes. Lire davantage

Contrary to the suggestion that bike lanes universally worsen congestion, research and case studies prove (time and time again) that well-planned bike infrastructure can reduce overall road congestion. Lire davantage

This proposal completely negates the value of bike lanes and alternate forms of transportation as an incredibly important part of reducing congestion. More cars in a gridlock city will not improve congestion. We need more alternatives- and bike lanes are key for this. Lire davantage

Bike lanes save lives. As a cyclist who lived in brampton and moved to Toronto I can not begin to explain how much of a difference protected lanes have made for me. I am a young woman and I have never felt safe cycling in my hometown but it was my only way of getting around. Lire davantage

Bike lanes make no sense -there is no usage -city is not livable anymore for any family that needs to get their kids to school and commute to work -we will consider moving, the City has 100% abandoned the property owners and families on this bike lane agenda

Bike lanes on major thoroughfares are not helpful to the majority of residents trying to get around this gridlocked city. These bike lanes which do not get much use especially in winter are a huge impediment to keeping traffic moving for the majority of road users and need to be removed!

I’ve been a resident of Toronto my entire life. Traffic is getting heavier each year. It is ridiculous to have designated bike lanes on Yonge St, Bloor St and University as they have resulted in significantly more traffic congestion, I can witness this on Yonge St, as we leave near there. Bike lanes were studied for years before implementation. They have been designed effectively considering all constituents and stakeholders (pedestrians, cyclists, automobiles etc). The arrival of lanes on Bloor has maintained parking and allowed for patios and restaurant businesses to thrive . Lire davantage

Bike lines have been added to Eglington Ave West of Yonge street in 2024 and they have created traffic jams from 3 pm to 7 pm every night since they removed lanes . The traffic if backed up from Avenue Road to Duplex Ave going west and now only 1 lane for traffic each way. Lire davantage

Replacing bike lanes with traffic lanes would only worsen the problem. Removing bike lanes would force cyclists to get into cars, which take up more room on the roads and increase gridlock. Lire davantage

I believe that removing some bike lanes on major roads is the right thing to do . Yes we need bike lanes but not on major arteries, Danforth Ave . for example In my neighborhood has become horrendous for traffic . Emergency vehicles cannot get by very easily. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to Bill 212's proposal to remove sections of the Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue bike lanes in the City of Toronto and return them to a lane of traffic for motor vehicles. Lire davantage
