As a resident of Southern Ontario it saddens me that not more is being done and that our government hasn't hit step into a more proactive role to save these species.

I believe human interference is what caused the rapid decline of Massasauga populations in our Carolinian eco zone, and human intervention may be the only option to help rehabilitate this species within Carolinian Ontario.

I would love for my children to be able to see these species in our community of Windsor Essex county. This is very important to me and the people I love.

I am commenting in regards to the government response statement pertaining to the recovery of the Massasauga rattlesnake population in south western Ontario (Carolinian).

I want to see the government do more actions in order to protect endangered species. In particular, helping the massassauga rattle snake Carolina population.

The status of the Massassauga in Carolinian areas is at terrible risk. Please consider immediate implementation of captive breeding programs, restrictions on development and land use in the Ojibway Prarie Complex, and any other measures necessary to aid in recovery.

It is be a great lost to our eco-system, and dynamic change of the grasslands. We can't afford to keep lossing these anaimals and not expect a greater impact.
I am commenting regarding the recovery goal of the Carolinian populations of Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes. I believe that the recovery goal should specify, not if appropriate but the need to implement population management actions, such as augmentation using captive-bred animals.
I believe that immediate management action must be taken to preserve the Massasauga rattlesnake populations, especially the Carolinian population. I support funding for captive breeding programs. I also believe that the Carolinian zone must be a priority in our habitat protection mandates.
I have sent this comment in writing by mail as well.
I'm writing with respect to the EBR posting 013-3065, particularly the Massasauga (Carolinian population) GRS. I strongly support the actions described within the GRS, however there is one part that concerns me.

Please do more to preserve the Massassauga rattlesnake! Then don't stop there - raise the funding for all the conservation efforts at Ojibway Nature Center.
Thanks!
I believe that in order for the persistence of the Carolinian (and other) populations of Massasaugas, there is a specific need to
implement population management actions, such as augmentation using captive-bred animals.
