I disagree with cancelling the cap and trade program. Cap and trade serves to move money from those that emit greenhouse gas emissions to those that will be affected by the effects of global warming and climate change (often those at or below the poverty line).

Ontario's Cap and Trade Program, while far from perfect, should not be repealed without appropriate replacement measures. We have a responsibility to address the serious consequences of climate change and this was a positive first step.

I do not support the Cap and Trade Cancellation Act. It is vital that action, funds, and resources are immediately directed towards efforts to address climate change. The cancellation of cap and trade puts a stop to such programs that were already underway or soon to be underway.

I am extremely disappointed at the shortsightedness of these recent decisions to end the cap and trade framework for Ontario. The framework was well constructed and properly executed. It was starting to show signs of success as well.

Given the grave and well-documented dangers posed by climate change, I am dismayed that the Ontario Government is proposing to cut cap & trade, which is generally accepted (including by the recent winner of the Nobel Prize for economics) as one of the most effective tools to counter and mediate huma

I respectfully disagree wholely and completely with Bill 4, the repeal of cap and trade. Clearly climate change is happening and clearly climate change needs to be mitigated. Clearly we need laws to work toward mitigating climate change. We need more laws to do this, not fewer.
I have very strong concerns about the proposed Act to cancel the carbon market, especially in light of the recent UN report that raises many alarms about how quickly the Earth is warming. It is up to us, and Ontarians, to do our part towards limiting carbon emissions and preserving carbon basins.

The cancellation of cap and trade in Ontario is a big mistake. Making industries pay for their carbon footprint is the right thing to do for the environment. It is also a useful source of income to fund projects which will benefit all Ontarians. Show some leadership.

This policy is a regressive step back in the fight against climate change, which is an unprecedented challenge that threatens the future of all Ontarian.

In light of the United Nations climate report (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/07/climate/ipcc-climate-report-2040.html) cap and trade isn't anywhere near enough, but repealing is clearly worse.

Please do not repeal cap and trade. In order to address climate change there must be legislation that has statutory emission limits, legally binding multi-year carbon budgets set 12 years in advance, which apply to the entire term of a single government.

I am submitting a comment on behalf of my 6 year old child. There needs to be a price on carbon. Everyone needs to be motivated to change how we use energy and how we produce energy. The course of my child's life will depend on what the world does about this crisis in the next 10 years.

In reality we have children that we say we love all of our lives. But I don’t understand that when we start to talk about something to protect the lives of those children, like implementing a carbon tax, then we start to say NO.

I am a university student and lifelong London resident who is preparing to dedicate my life to the health of Ontarians as a healthcare professional. What concerns me about the Cap and Trade Cancellation Act is the way it will affect the wellbeing of my community.

I am not in favour of ending cap and trade. Now more than ever we need to have wise leadership in Ontario to reduce our carbon footprint. Cap and Trade was working and should be continued.
