There is overwhelming evidence that we need to limit our carbon emissions. In addition to our legacy as a species on this planet, we have our children and future generations to worry about. I am extremely concerned that the current Ontario government does not have a plan in place. Read more

Bill 4 absolutely should not be passed in light of the current climate crisis. While not perfect, the Cap and Trade Program is one of the first steps for Canada towards meeting its emission reduction targets for the Paris Agreement and a safer climate. Read more

Climate impacts are undeniable, severe and increasing. Earlier this week, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued its most dire warning to date, saying that the world has just a few years to change course and prevent catastrophic and irreversible climate impacts. Read more

We are in an environmental crisis time. Bill 4 only deals with the keeping of a political promise, not with the reality of climate change and needed action. It does nothing to encourage the greening of industry and the industry that can be built upon green alternatives. Read more

Summary Bill 4 fails to match the urgency of the climate crisis and represents a major step backward in the fight against climate change. It is unfair and unreasonable to eliminate the province’s only climate plan without being transparent with the public about the plan to replace it. Read more

I strongly disagree with the repeal of the 'Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016'. I believe that placing a price on carbon emissions is an effective way to combat greenhouse gas emissions. Shutting down the existing system is an enormous waste of tax revenue. Read more
